Forks of Little Washington tours showcase a mix of upscale fine dining, Southern comfort foods, and local craft beverages within the setting of a historic waterfront town that continues to evolve. See below for tour details and descriptions of each stop.

Our food tour is a curated, in-person walking experience through Little Washington’s Downtown Harbor District, lasting 2.5 to 3 hours. Along the way, you’ll explore local history while visiting four to six unique food and drink spots, each offering a tasting and a glimpse into what makes them special. It’s a perfect introduction to Little Washington — featuring great flavors, fascinating stories, beautiful views, and a relaxed outdoor stroll.

Twilight Tastings: Thursdays, 6PM to 9PM

Join us after work on a Thursday evening for curated bites and local flavors as the sun sets over historic Little Washington. Stroll downtown streets while sampling a blend of offerings from formal and casual restaurants (The Hackney, Angi's Mexican Kitchen, Rice & River, Down On Main, and Union Spirits).

Downtown Dish & Discovery, Fridays, 3PM to 6PM

Get a jump on your weekend with Downtown Dish & Discovery, a Friday afternoon journey through the heart of Little Washington, where great food and local stories come together. Enjoy tastings from downtown favorites (1906 Bistro & Bourbon Bar, Angi's Mexican Kitchen, Rice & River, The Hackney Distillery, Havens Mill Pizza Company, and Pitt St. Brewing) while exploring our rich history.

Small Town, Big Flavors: Saturday, 10:00AM to 1:00PM:

No better place than the waterfront on Saturday morning. Small Town, Big Flavors celebrates the culinary talent of Little Washington with a morning of tastings (The Mulberry House, Angi's Mexican Kitchen, Blu Farm to Table, The Hackney Distillery, and Two Rivers Alehouse). Discover how a "Little" town delivers bold flavors, rich history and warm Southern hospitality.

Pamlico Plates: Saturdays, 1:00PM to 4:00PM:

Highlighting the flavors and stories that define Little Washington along the scenic Pamlico River. This Saturday afternoon walking tour pair curated tastings (The Hackney, The Hackney Distillery, The Stubborn Mule Oyster Bar & Grill, El Loco Social Bistro & Lounge, Shaw's BBQ, and Pitt St. Brewing) with waterfront charm and local history for a rich and satisfying experience.

Sip and Savor: Sundays, 10:30AM to 1:30PM

A relaxing Sunday morning tour featuring specialty beverages and bites from our favorite local spots (Shep's Grill, Fat Cats, El Loco Social Bistro & Lounge, Blu Farm to Table, and Main Street Scoops Ice Cream). Stroll the historic waterfront while enjoying great flavors, engaging stories, and the easy rhythm of a coastal town.

The Hackney

An upscale, farm-to-table destination set inside a beautifully restored, historic bank building. Led by Executive Chef and James Beard Award Finalist Jamie Davis, the kitchen serves a hyper-seasonal menu that rotates daily based on local catches. Sample artisanal small plates paired with cocktails based on gins distilled in-house.

Haven's Mill Pizza Company

New York-style, hand-tossed, stone-baked pizzas crafted with the finest fresh ingredients. Shared scenic waterfront location with Pitt Street Brewing.

The Mulberry House

On the first floor of a restored multi-story boutique venue featuring a covered patio and a trendy rooftop deck overlooking the river. High-end Southern home cooking sourcing fine local ingredients and quintessential taste of Eastern North Carolina comfort food.

Pitt Street Brewing Company On the Pamlico

A dog-friendly waterfront taproom, panoramic riverside seating with an ever-changing craft beer board featuring more than a dozen in-house brews and ciders. Guests sample a variety of brews paired with food from onsite Haven’s Mill Pizza or Shaw’s Barbeque.

Rice and River

An exclusive, sophisticated sushi bar on the rooftop of The Mulberry House. Relaxing atmosphere that blends coastal Carolina aesthetics with Japanese design and panoramic views of the Pamlico River. Premium sushi paired with traditional Japanese sake.

River Vibes

Vibrant, family-owned waterfront shop for outdoor adventure (offering kayak and bike rentals) and refreshment serving a variety of smoothies, coffees, juices, and flavored sodas. Casual outdoor seating on downtown sidewalk with river views accompanied by Jimmy Buffet music.

Scoops Ice Cream

Shaw's Barbecue

Builds on over 50 years of family-owned success from its original Williamston location. Delivers traditional Eastern North Carolina style pit-cooked pork. Innovative twists such as barbeque fried egg rolls with collards and pimento cheese.

Shep's Grill

A hometown diner offering authentic Eastern North Carolina culture and Southern comfort plates featuring robust house-smoked meats, utilizing a giant on-site wood smoker.

Stubborn Mule Oyster Bar & Grill

Two Rivers Alehouse

A relaxed, local microbrewery named to honor both the Tar and Pamlico Rivers (one water body that changes names in Washington) motto is "a beer for everyone". Wide variety beers brewed onsite plus rotating taps highlighting regional breweries.
